Paris Ultras Collective temporarily suspends its actions

FOOTBALL – The Paris Ultras Collective (CUP) has decided to temporarily halt its actions in the stands at Parc des Princes and during away games, after a meeting between the Ultras and PSG leaders on Tuesday, May 10. The Ultras believe that this suspension of activities is the best option to preserve a common future with the club’s management. They particularly blame PSG for canceling 450 of their tickets for the trip to Troyes, where some supporters were blocked at the toll booth or in front of the stadium, surrounded by the police.

The club must provide answers

The CUP expects specific answers from the club on several points before reconsidering its positions. The anger of the supporters, led by the Ultras, has reached an unprecedented level since the club’s acquisition by Qatar in 2011, with protests in front of Neymar’s residence and criticism of the club’s management.

The tension was already noticeable during a gathering of supporters in front of PSG’s headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt last week. Security has been increased in front of Neymar’s residence, at Camp des Loges, and in front of the homes of other players targeted by insults, such as Marco Verratti, Leo Messi, and coach Christophe Galtier.
