“On May 5, the Federation received a first synthetic and oral summary of the general inspections report. Their initial conclusions regarding the scope of the mission were clear: no irregularities were detected in the management of these last seven years”, the FFR stated.
A two-part audit initiated following a report
The final results of this two-part audit, initiated following a report submitted in late January to the Minister of Sports Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, are expected in June. The ministry had chosen to involve the General Directorate for Competition and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) and launch a budgetary control mission for the federation.
According to the FFR, the inspectors carried out an in-depth control of nearly two months, having access to all internal documents of the Federation and questioning numerous staff and elected officials. The report “would also include suggestions regarding financial management or the supervision of major projects. These recommendations could, if necessary, bring functional improvements”, the FFR added.

Partial renewal of the executive committee and election of a new president
The FFR is going through a turbulent period internally, following the resignation of its former president, Bernard Laporte on January 27, after being sentenced to two years suspended prison for concluding a “corruption pact” with businessman and Montpellier club president Mohed Altrad. The organization must therefore proceed with the partial renewal of its executive committee and elect a new president. Candidates have until May 31 to apply. The results will be announced on June 14.
