His remarkable career partly explains his quiet rise to prominence. For instance, Gil participated in the Series A funding of payment software company Stripe 11 years ago and invested in several subsequent funding rounds. He also acquired stakes in note-taking app Notion, cloud collaboration platform Airtable, military tech contractor Anduril, and design tool Figma, which agreed to sell to Adobe for a staggering $20 billion last September.
