Canaltech has compiled a list of the top 5 expectations for the PlayStation Showcase. Among the anticipated games are Final Fantasy XVI, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2, and Street Fighter 6, a collaboration between Capcom and Sony.

Fans are also looking forward to news about Resident Evil 4 Remake, with the Separate Ways expansion possibly being unveiled at the event. The Resident Evil 4 remake was announced in June 2022 during a Sony event.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, announced in September 2021, is also highly anticipated. The PlayStation Showcase could be an opportunity to showcase the new gameplay of this PlayStation 5 exclusive title, with Venom as the main antagonist.

Rumors of a PS5 Pro and Portable Device

There are also rumors circulating about a potential PS5 Pro and a portable device dedicated to remote gaming with the console. The PS5 Pro could be a digital model with a separate disc drive or a more powerful version planned for Christmas 2024.

Regarding the portable device, it would have the codename Q Lite and resemble the DualSense, featuring an eight-inch screen. It would require a constant internet connection and work with the PlayStation 5’s Remote Play system, allowing users to stream their owned titles remotely.

Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid Hopes

Fans also hope for news about the Silent Hill series, with a remake of the second installment and a release date. Additionally, a revival of the classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is hoped for, following the collaboration between Konami and Sony.
